Salted Caramel Mocha
Anyone who knows me, knows I am sucker for sweet drinks and that I love my coffee! I love Starbucks and have a number of favourite drinks there. If you deliver me one of those, you will win my heart over instantly.
This past fall I was waiting for my baby girl to arrive and decided to go to the mall to kill some time. While I was there I found myself sitting in Starbucks enjoying some of the cafe atmosphere. Over the time I was there, the employees happened to be passing out some samples of a Salted Caramel Mocha on their menu. I hadn’t tried one of those and fell in love. Their samples worked because I couldn’t forget about it and bought one a few weeks later.
However, Starbucks drinks are not the cheapest and best option for a person with a lower budget, so I needed to come up with a way to make these on my own. I kind of did by accident while making a drink with my sister one night.
I was skimming over pinterest and saw this salted caramel hot chocolate recipe. I asked my sister if she wanted to make it. She agreed and we set off to do that. However when we finished making it, we tried some and deemed it way too rich! I decided to add some coffee to it. Just like that it mellowed it down and we had delicious Salted Caramel Mocha.
So now I can share this wonderful cup of dessert with you. One thing to note is that a great mocha is made with espresso. I do not own an espresso machine so I substitute by making my regular coffee extra dark in a drink like this.
